The Living Room continues its commitment to the fostering of KC-original work with this fierce, impassioned, and intimate 90-minute, 3 person retelling of William Shakespeare’s classic. Adapted by, directed, and co-starring Kyle Hatley alongside Natalie Liccardello with live scoring by Sean Hogge.

The Living Room presents a fiery, kinetic, and deeply impassioned three-person, 90-minute retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth. Kyle Hatley returns to Kansas City to direct and star, alongside Natalie Liccardello, in this newly adapted world premiere. Featuring an innovative original score performed live by Sean Hogge.

Three players walk into a room. Each of them carries the things they need to tell their story. What happens next is their haunting take on an old and cautionary tale, a rumor, a myth, a parable. It is a story they know well. One they must tell today and will surely tell again tomorrow. Two of them play all the roles, while the third scores the story live, but all three players must summon the courage to share their dark and terrifyingly close look into a bloody marriage, and the fear that compels them to commit their crimes. With no intermission, this adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth is lean, swift, athletic, and as intimate as a whisper in your ear.

From the team that brought you Titus Andronicus, Carousel, The Death of Cupid, and Master of the Universe. Running Aug. 9 – Sept. 3 at The Living Room Theatre 1818 McGee St, Kansas City, MO 64108

General admission $35 Tickets available at thelivingroomkc.com
