A note from the Directors:
As Mame Dennis states in both, ‘Auntie Mame’ the play and ‘Mame’ the musical, “Life is a Banquet”; and it truly is for her and her nephew Patrick Dennis. The relationship between Mame and Patrick is a classic love story filled with suspense, humor, serious discussions and difficult decisions.
Much as in life itself, Mame controls everyone and everything; and everything she touches with her love and adoration blossoms into a shining star in the constellation of life. There are many lessons that can be learned through her profound statements and life learned wisdom. Family first, friends second,self-third but fabulous.
As we take this journey through Mame and Patrick’s life over the course of approximately 15 years, let yourselves succumb to her charm and wisdom, let her make you laugh and enjoy a healthy cry of support and happiness.
We dedicate this production to friends and fellow actors near and far who we had the pleasure of working with 50 years ago at the premiere production of Theatre in the Park, at Antioch Park’s presentation of Mame. Most assuredly, Bill Oldham is smiling down upon us and adding to the laughter.
See you at the show!
