At Theatre for Young America in Union Station

This holiday musical takes place in winter in the alley beside the St. Francis Residential Hotel in New York City. Max, a street musician, Emily, a young mother, and Maureen, a homeless lady, share the alley with three cats. The plan to convert the hotel into a condominium threatens to disrupt everybody’s lives, including the three cats. So these three wise cats costume themselves as the Three Wise Men and rearrange the alley trash into a giant holiday display and they launch the first annual Christmas Cat Carnival right there in the alley. It is a big musical hit, which the people of New York see as a real miracle. It is a miracle that rescues the homes and lives the residents, Max, Maureen, Emily, Emily’s infant child, and, of course, the “Three Wise Cats” from the East (East Manhattan).
Theatre for Young America’s Resident Playwright, Gene Mackey wrote the script. Original music was composed by Molly Jessup. Director Valerie Mackey will helm the production with Musical Direction by Tim Braselton, Choreography by Amy Hurrelbrink and Stage Management by Alexandra Pilley. The cast includes: Steven Eubank as Saraswati, Elise Poehling as Judy, and Evan Lovelace as Jack.

If you’re looking for a way to instill liberalism into your child’s young impressionable brain, this is the play for you!
If you’re looking for traditional holiday entertainment, it isn’t.
If you think turning children against our incoming president by having a villan named Donald in a play is a good idea, buy your tickets now. If you think kids shouldn’t be brainwashed with someone else’s idealogy under the thin guise of “entertainment”, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere.
