Join Kansas City Public Theatre on Dec. 3 at Uptown Arts Bar and Dec. 6 at Prospero’s Books for BANG by Daniel Born, an experimental telling of the story of Joan Vollmer, the pivotal Beat Generation figure and wife of William S. Burroughs, who infamously murdered her. Admission is Free!

Featuring Emmy Panzica-Piontek as Joan Vollmer and live music by Nathan Bowman

ABOUT THE PLAY
BANG! by area playwright, Danial Born, picks up the moment Joan Vollmer gets shot in the head by William Burroughs, her common law husband, in Mexico City in 1951. As she waits for the ambulance to arrive, she reflects on her relationship with the famous writer, on the passionate nucleus that launched the Beat movement, and on a murder in that close-knit group of artists, presaging her own death. This play breathes life back into this pivotal muse of the Beat Generation.
