Welcome Spring With Fantastic Classical Music
Two March Concert Offerings from Park ICM: March 23rd
featuring Dang Thai Son on Piano
And March 28th featuring Irina Muresanu, Violin & Lolita Sayevich on Piano
Parkville, Missouri: Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director at Park International Center for Music, announced Wednesday that Park ICM is offering not one, but two late March concerts to welcome spring. “If you are a classical music lover, we have two charming spring concerts to choose from during late March. Get out of the final snow storm of the season at the intimate 1900 Building on Saturday with piano sensation Dang Thai Son and then enjoy the magnificent artistry of violinist Irina Muresanu with our own Lolita Sayevich on piano,” exclaimed Ioudenitch. “There’s no better way to begin spring after the long winter in Kansas City.”
On March 23rd at 7:30 p.m., pianist Dang Thai Son will be taking the stage at The 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. Called “a genuine musician,” by Isaac Stern, Dang Thai Son is one of the great outstanding musicians of our time. Since winning the Chopin Competition, his international career has taken him to more than 40 countries and into such renowned concert halls as Lincoln Center (New York), Barbican Center (London), Salle Pleyel (Paris), Herculessaal (Munich), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Opera House (Sydney), and Suntory Hall (Tokyo).
“It was easy to understand why Dang, 36 years after his first prize in the Chopin Competition, remains such a favorite in Poland . . . His control and unfaltering rhythm enabled him to sing out the melodic content in a manner that was a lesson for any pianist.” –International Piano Magazine, September/October 2016
On his program is:
C.Debussy: Five Preludes
– La puerta del Vino
– La danse de Puck
– Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l’air du soir

Just five days later, on March 28th, 7:30 p.m, back at The 1900 Building, you’ll warm up to spring with the gorgeous music of Irina Muresanu on violin. Romanian violinist Muresanu has won the hearts of audiences and critics alike with her “irresistible,” (Boston Globe) exciting, elegant and heartfelt performances of classic, romantic and modern repertoire. The Los Angeles Times has written that her “musical luster, melting lyricism and colorful conception made Irina Muresanu’s performance especially admirable”. Her performances have been frequently cited as among the “Best of Classical Music Performances” by The Boston Globe, most recently for a recital titled “Rorem, Ravel, and Rags.”
Muresanu has performed in renowned concert halls throughout North America, Europe and Asia. An active chamber musician and recitalist, Ms. Muresanu is a member of the Boston Trio and has appeared in New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Colorado, Hawaii, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Guadeloupe islands.
