Behzod Abduraimov Will Perform
Solo Recital at 1900 Building
Performance Available Online
Wed., April 1 @ 7 p.m. CST
WHO: Pianist Behzod Abduraimov
After recent performances of his solo recital across the globe, Pianist Behzod Abduraimov has been riding high, including three encores and nine curtain calls at Carnegie Hall this past December. “Throughout the piece, the pianist showed he wasn’t satisfied with just making the music sound great, but digging into it to see what might be underneath . . . yet he was always inside the music, pushing it to its extremes while always working with what Mussorgsky had given. This was individual and exhilarating pianism.” (New York Classical Review) The 29-year-old Park ICM alumnus and Artist-in-Residence made his splash in the piano world by winning the London International Piano Competition under the tutelage of his mentor and Park ICM Founder, Stanislav Ioudenitch.
WHAT: Solo Recital is FREE OF CHARGE
While the live performance has had to be cancelled, Park University and The 1900 Building are thrilled to be able to bring Behzod’s amazing talent to classical music lovers right in their own living rooms, especially while theaters are shuttered worldwide. The program features Debussy’s gentle miniatures (tender reflections on childhood) and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (that bring the paintings of Mussorgsky’s friend artist Victor Hartmann to life).
WHEN: The link will go live on Monday, April 1st, at 7:00 p.m. CST and will come down at the conclusion of the performance.
WHERE: The concert is being produced by The 1900 Building. The link to the concert can be found at https://1900bldg.com/.
