Leawood Stage cancels ‘Civil War’ production

Posted by Bob Evans

An important update from the board:

In light of the need for social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Leawood Stage Company is sad to announce that we find it necessary to cancel “The Civil War” in order to keep our patrons safe from possible exposure. Every day the numbers of cases in Johnson County rise and we need to do everything possible to stop the spread. At this time we do not feel that we will be able to reschedule the production for a later spring date.

We hope to produce this moving and beautiful show at a much later date. We thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work to date. Their voices at rehearsals have been amazing, so it is very difficult for us to make this announcement. Please congratulate them on their hard work and encourage them in this time.

All tickets purchased to date will be fully refunded.

We hope that by our summer show, “The Drowsy Chaperone” in July, the world will be healthy again. Please check back with us soon for future announcements.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support,

The Leawood Stage Company and the City of Leawood
