KCAT stages free reading

Press Release posted by Bob Evans
KCAT Presents
A Free Staged Reading of
Gardner McKay’s
Masters of the Sea
At City Stage in Union Station
Sunday, March 31st at 2:00 pm
KCAT is happy to present “Masters of the Sea,” Gardner McKay’s follow-up to “Sea Marks,” which we presented in 2018. Darren Kennedy will reprise the role of Colm Primrose as he returns to his native island to mourn the loss of both his kin and his way of life. Jan Rogge, director of “Sea Marks,” will also return to direct a cast some of Kansas City’s finest actors for this special one-time free staged reading.
Described as a comedy with tragedy, “Masters of the Sea” is a story of Shakespearean proportions – with lost fathers, a kingdom in peril, and a rival threatened by the mutual adversary of the sea. Join us for this stirring commitment to standing for your people and a life you believe in.
Use the button below to RSVP with Matt Sameck, KCAT Director of Marketing and Development, (matt@kcactors.org) or call the administrative office at 816-361-5228 to reserve your seats to this free staged reading. Please be sure to include your name, e-mail address, and the number of people in your party.
Availability is limited, so don’t delay!
This free staged reading is part of the KCAT Season 14 Reading Series, which is made possible by Rick and Barbie Dierks.
