Large Portion of the Viewing Area Will be Affected

Kansas City PBS announced today that due to unforeseen issues with their broadcast antenna, the station is running at significantly reduced power. This issue is currently affecting a large portion of the viewing area and might persist for several weeks. Viewers who are affected and have internet access are encouraged to livestream the main channel 19.1 at kansascitypbs.org/stream and the 24/7 Kids Channel 19.4 at kansascitypbs.org/kids or stream selected shows on-demand through the PBS video app which can be downloaded at kansascitypbs.org/anywhere.

“We know that many viewers rely heavily on us for news, entertainment, and children’s programming,” said Jeff Evans, Chief Technology Officer. “Our engineering staff is working as quickly as possible to get this issue resolved.”

Engineers with the station are aware of the issue and are working diligently to find the source of the problem. As more

details become available, KCPBS will make updates on social media and on the Kansas City PBS website at kansascitypbs.org/transmitter.
