Public Health & Safety Announcement from HSGKC
After careful consideration, and due to the developments resulting from COVID-19 and the recommendations from the CDC, as well as local mandates from Mayor Quinten Lucas, The Humane Society of Greater KC is implementing safety protocols in order to protect our valued clients and staff to minimize exposure.
This was a difficult decision; however, we feel it is critical, the correct course of action, the socially responsible decision, and the best thing to do in service of our community.
·     Feral Fix Clinics are canceled until further notice
·     All satellite adoption events are canceled until further notice
·     All volunteer orientations and volunteer groups are canceled until further notice
Adoptions
Adoptions by appointment only—NO WALK INS. Please fill out the online adoption application and a member of our adoptions team will contact you to make an appointment.
Clinic
HSGKC will be implementing a Drive Up Clinic in order to control the number of people gathered in our lobby to decrease the likelihood of infection.
·     Drive Up Vaccinations will be available from 9am-11am Tuesday – Saturday
·     All other medical needs will be met by appointment only
Please call our front desk at 913-596-1000 to make this appointment.
Please note, we are experiencing a very high volume of calls. Please be patient. Leave a voicemail if your call is not answered and a receptionist will get back to you as soon as possible.
How Drive Up Clinic Works
1)   Clients will park in our front parking lot, as usual
2)   Please leave your pet in the car and come check in with the receptionist that will be stationed at our front door or front desk, then return to your car
3)   Someone will come out to your car to complete your paperwork
4)   Please wait in your car with your pet until a member of our medical team comes to get your pet for their appointment
5) Please remain in your car while your pet is examined
Please note you will not be called in the order you arrived— some people are checking in for surgery, some are here for sick pets, some are here for vaccinations.
We are working hard to see all clients and pets as efficiently as possible.
Protocol is subject to change as the situation develops.
