FRINGE: ‘A Different Way of Thinking’

MAGICIAN/AUTISM RIGHTS ADVOCATE CODY CLARK TO PERFORM CODY CLARK: A DIFFERENT WAY OF THINKING AT THE 13TH ANNUAL KC FRINGE FESTIVAL JUNE 7, 2017

(LOUISVILLE, KY) – Louisville, KY based magician/autism rights advocate Cody Clark will be performing his one-man show Cody Clark: A Different Way of Thinking as a part of the 2017 KC Fringe Festival, an independent theatre festival happening July 20-30 at venues throughout Kansas City. In his show, Cody uses the arts of magic, theatre, and storytelling to give audiences a first-person account of living with autism.

Since Cody feels that his autism causes him to see the world differently, he uses his magic to illustrate this to his audiences. His routines are placed within his life story, starting at birth and ending with his graduation from the University of Louisville. Audiences will get to join him in reliving experiences ranging from visits to his Memaw’s house to the pain of romantic rejection. Cody has been performing magic for thirteen years, utilizing his magic to spread his message of autism acceptance. He tours with his one-man show at small theatres and fringe festivals across the United States, which this year includes fringes in Pittsburgh (winner of the Spirit of the Fringe award), Staunton, VA, Orlando, and Baltimore.

Recently, he was awarded a grant from Louisville’s Fund for the Arts to attend the Magic & Meaning Conference in Las Vegas, making him one of very few magicians to be awarded a grant by their local arts council. Aside from his one-man show, he also does public speaking about autism rights issues and magic for children as his train-conductor character Conductor Cody.
Cody’s show at KC Fringe will be performed at The Outburst on 1715 Wynadotte St. His show times are:
Friday, July 21st 8 PM
Sunday, July 23rd 6:30 PM
Monday, July 24th 8 PM
Wednesday, July 25th 9:30 PM
