Kansas City, MO (February 10th, 2017) Theatre for Young America presents Curious George opening on February 14th and running until March 25th, 2017 at Union Station City Stage.

The series of books by H. A. and Margret Ray starring the lovable monkey Curious George first appeared in America in the 1940s.  His popularity continues today.  This comical dramatization is based on several of the early Curious George books, including the very first one in which The Man with the Yellow Hat captures George and takes him to a big city to live in a zoo.  The Man with the Yellow Hat and a host of comical humans surround the monkey Curious George as he swallows a puzzle piece, gets x-rayed, knocks over a dinosaur display at the science museum, rides a rocket to outer space, and gets awarded a medal.

Dramatized by Douglas Marr for the Omaha Children’s Theatre, this lively play draws on 3 of the popular Curious George books by Hans A. Rey: Curious George Rides a BicycleCurious George Goes to the Hospital, and Curious George Gets a Medal.  Appropriate for pre-school and up.  The cast includes Damron Russel Armstrong as the Man in the Yellow Hat, Alisa Lynn as Curious George, with Eric Johansen, and R.H Wilhoit.   Artistic Director Valerie Mackey will be directing.
