★ TITANIC • February 13 – 23, 2020; Music & Lyrics by Maury Yeston; Book by Peter Stone. Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Come and voyage into the tragic true story of the quintessential 20th Century disaster. See the story through the eyes the captain, the owner, the designer, the officers and crew members, as well as the passengers of the ill-fated “unsinkable” ship. Accepting director applications now.
★ IF / THEN • March 26 – April 5, 2020; Music by Tom Kitt; Lyrics & Book by Brian Yorkey. A Kansas City theatre premiere! Discover the story of Elizabeth, a city planner whose life splits in two when her plans collide with the whims of fate. The show follows both stories simultaneously, as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance. Accepting director applications now.
★ THE LARAMIE PROJECT • May 14 – 24, 2020; By Moises Kaufman & members of Tectonic Theatre Project; Experience this emotionally riveting show based on the actual events surrounding the 1998 murder of college student Matthew Shepard. This award winning docudrama interweaves the thoughts of Laramie, Wyoming locals, the playwrights own journal entries, and published news reports of the crime and its aftermath. ★ PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT • August 20 – 30, 2020; Book by Stephen Elliott & Allan Scott; Music & Lyrics by Various Composers & Lyricists. A Kansas City community theatre premiere based on the smash-hit movie. Here is the tale of a glamorous Sydney-based drag trio who agree to take their show to the Australian outback. This wildly funny musical is a journey into the heart of fabulous! The production of PRISCILLA will be helmed by the Barn Players Artistic Director, Eric Magnus.
★ THE SECRET GARDEN • November 12 – 22, 2020; Music by Lucy Simon; Lyrics & Book by Marsha Norman. Following the death of her parents, young Mary Lennox moves from India to the gloomy Yorkshire moors of England to live with her moody Uncle and her bedridden cousin. Could a magical,secret garden possibly transform their lives? Accepting director applications now.
★ THE BARN PLAYERS 13th ANNUAL 6 X 10 TEN-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL • December 4 – 6, 2020. Six short 10-minute plays authored by Kansas City writers are given the chance to be showcased on the Barn Players Arts Asylum stage.
