In 1957, Soviet scientists sent the first living thing into outer space: a stray dog. Inspired by true events, MUTTNIK is a story about purpose, life and death all told from the perspective of a Russian pooch.
Winner of Orlando Fringe 2018 Best Solo Show (drama), MUTTNIK is written and performed by Orlando artist Bruce Ryan Costella and will be performed at KC Fringe festival for the first time. Throughout the festival, BC Theatricals will be accepting donations of dog treats in support of a local dog shelter as a part of its “Good Dog Initiative.”
“This story of courage in the face of adversity tugs at the heartstrings. Good dog.” Orlando Sentinel
“There are many dogs in the Orlando Fringe game this year, but this good boy may just be best in show.” Watermark Magazine
Costella is an Orlando based artist, entertainer and creative. He likes dogs, ice cream and figuring out how to incorporate nonprofit stewardship into his work. In recent years he has helped raise money for the Orlando Fringe, the Zebra Coalition, the Orlando Science Center and many more organizations.
MUTTNIK is a part of a four show pack of performers bringing shows all the way from Orlando, Florida.
Other shows include Beneath the Bikini, The Lightweight, and War Paint.
